Mofokeng Foundation Top 16 exciting weekend fixtures

“We are looking forward to the exciting weekend.”

SEDIBENG.- All roads will lead to James and Pepsi’s dusty soccer grounds in Sharpeville this weekend.

The local senior soccer teams will be competing in the Relebohile Mofokeng Top 16 Soccer Tournament, which kicked off last weekend at the above-mentioned venues.

The day’s fixtures will start at 9:00 with Sekhukhune FC up against Vaal Milano FC, and this encounter promises fixture works as both teams have assembled exciting talent.

The local soccer fans are expected to fill the venue to enjoy kasi football. Manana Puso FC and Real Tigers FC will lock horns in the second game of the day. This game also promises to keep the soccer fans on the edge of their seats. These are the two teams that are known for starving their opponents of ball possession. It is going to be a mouth-watering encounter worth watching.

Kick-off is at 11:00.

G Stars FC and Touch Is A Move FC pitted against each other in the third game of the day. The game kick-off is at 13:00. The last game of the day will see the tournament’s crowd pullers, Ben 10 FC and FC Government, up against each other.

This much-anticipated encounter will kick off at 15:00.

This is the best game to wrap up the day’s programme, with both teams having a galaxy of exciting players.

FC Government recently lost to Izingwenya FC at the Duku Duku Super16 Soccer Tournament at France ground in Movhango in Bophelong. If their performance against Izingwenya FC is anything to go by, FC Government are red-hot favourites to walk away with bragging rights.

They are a team that appreciates ball possession and starts playing from the back.  They were one of the exciting teams to watch at the Duku Duku Super16 Tournament. Relebohile Mofokeng Top 16 Tournament coordinator, Sechaba Mofokeng, said since the tournament started, there has been excitement in Sharpeville.

Apart from senior teams, this tournament, which is organised by Orlando Pirates’ young star, Relebohile Mofokeng, also includes junior soccer teams. The junior soccer teams play their tournament fixtures during the week, while the senior teams play during the weekend.

“We are looking forward to the exciting weekend,” said Mofokeng, who is also the father of Relebohile.
