Qoqa Community Projects embarks on clean-up campaign
The clean-up project managed to bring the Evaton community together.
EVATON.- The Qoqa Community Project, which is a non-profit organisation in partnership with PETCO, embarked on a clean-up campaign recently.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mapule Koloba, who was the project coordinator, said this initiative aimed at promoting environmental conservation and empowering the community with knowledge on sustainable practice and community engagement.

She said this clean-up project managed to bring the Evaton community together. School children and stakeholders came together for a common purpose, collecting waste and being educated about the importance of recycling and proper waste management. Koloba told Sedibeng Ster that this initiative resulted in a significant amount of waste being collected and responsibly disposed of.

It also strengthened community partnerships in promoting environmental sustainability and community development. Koloba hailed this initiative as a great success, considering the positive response from the community. Qoqa Community Projects has a few programmes within the organisation, like a vegetable garden, recycling, and a soup kitchen.

“We do not have any form of funding, but we are committed to improving the lives of our community. In fact, we will appreciate any form of donation and have six committed volunteers who are passionate about serving their community. We want to thank everyone who came to support this initiative, and I do not doubt that if it weren’t for their support, this campaign would not have been a success. It was a great teamwork between the community, school children, and stakeholders. This initiative was more educational, and I do not doubt that everyone went home well informed,” she concluded.
