WiARM celebrates humanity

"We realised that we can make a difference in our community, no matter how old we are or how much time we have.”

SEBOKENG.- Vaal Football Masters together with Women in Agricultural Rural Movement (WiARM) celebrated Nelson Mandela’s birthday day by dedicating 67 minutes and more of their time to serve our community.

Manana Matima, the coordinator of Women in Agricultural Rural Movement (WiARM) an organisation that supports women in agriculture said that more than 80 children were catered for on the day at the event held at Kgokare Secondary School in Zone 7, Sebokeng last Friday.

“We had agricultural teaching, where children were kept busy in garden and also, they were taught about the importance of soil and importance of healthy food. As we reflect on our 67 minutes of service, we felt very proud of what we had accomplished and the impact we had made. We realised that we can make a difference in our community, no matter how old we are or how much time we have,” said Matima.

She further added that celebrating Mandela Day was an incredible experience for them.

“We had fun while making a difference in our community. We hope to continue serving and giving back to our community throughout the year.”
