Local boy scoops two prizes at PSL Awards

"Many good youngsters could have easily won these awards."

SHARPEVILLE.- The Vaal’s finest, Relebohile Mofokeng, scooped two significant prizes during the PSL Awards on Tuesday night.

This Sharpeville-born sensation was named the Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season and the MTN8 Last Man Standing. This Orlando Pirates forward has been on top of his game since being promoted to the top-flight football two seasons ago. Not only for Pirates, he was one of the influential players for Bafana Bafana whenever he was given a chance. Mofokeng is the player of the moment, and his name has been on everyone’s lips for his unique talent.

Speaking to journalists after the awards, Mofokeng said he is thankful to those who made it possible for him to walk away with these two significant awards.

He said these awards mean more hard work in the new season, which is set to kick off in August with MTN8 fixtures.

“I want to thank everyone who made this possible for me. Many good youngsters could have easily won these awards. I’m looking forward to the new season,” said Mofokeng.

When journalists asked him about any possible move away from Pirates, Mofokeng said, “I’m still a Pirates player as far as I know. I know nothing about any possible move overseas.”
