SEBOKENG.- Talented local DJ and Producer ‘Ribbz’, born Rethabile Radebe, is lively and gifted.

Ribbz’s music tells a story.

It is a fusion of kwaito and jazz, with soulful vocals and infectious beats.  Ribbz said that he draws inspiration from personal experiences, love, money and self-empowerment. His style, on the decks, is characterised by catchy melodies, rhythmic guitar riffs, and heartfelt lyrics.

This makes him relatable and authentic in the Amapiano/House industry. With a deep-rooted love for chess and an academic background to match, Ribbz approaches every set like a grandmaster, planning his next move.

Armed with a degree in Public Governance, specialising in Public Administration and Labour Relations Management, he’s always been about balancing structure with creativity of his sets that blend Kwaito and Jazz in the Amapiano genre and his profound love for Afro-Tech.

His journey into music began behind a screen, cutting his teeth on Virtual DJ before transitioning to CDJ’s in 2021.

That leap marked a pivotal point in his career, where the virtual became tangible and the hobby transformed into a serious artistic pursuit.

Since then, Ribbz has steadily crafted a name for himself, known for sets that are as thoughtful as they are high-energy which is a perfect reflection of his analytical mind and passion for sound.

He brings intellect, passion, and strategy to every performance proving that when music and the mind align, magic happens.
