Precious Leotlela and Letta Zwane from SA’s dairy logistics giant, Tip-Top Milk, are changing the trajectory of the SA trucking industry, proving that excellence has no gender.
The two have been hailed among Tip-Top Milk’s top drivers over the past two years, earning their place in a line-up traditionally dominated by men.

Zwane has become the first woman in Tip-Top Milk’s history to secure a place in the annual top five, a remarkable milestone achieved in her first year with the company.
“Driving keeps me focused and active. I’m proud knowing I’m helping the team and getting the job done safely and on time. Over time, I’ve learned just how much effort it takes for farmers to feed the country, and I’m proud to be part of that chain,” said Zwane.

Leotlela, a young driver known for her focus and determination, continues to challenge industry perceptions about what women can do behind the wheel.
“Some people think this work is too hard or heavy for a woman. But that only pushes me to work harder because I love what I do. Strength isn’t just in your arms, it’s in your focus and mindset,” said Leotlela.

Due to the limited number of women in South Africa’s logistics force, Leotlela and Zwane’s achievement stands not only as a personal milestone but also as a marker of meaningful change within the sector.

Reflecting on the milestone, Tip-Top Milk CEO David de Jager said: “We judge performance by results. Precious and Letta’s recognition is proof that skill, focus, and professionalism transcend gender.”

He emphasised that driving for the dairy industry comes with unique demands, requires strict hygiene protocols, time-sensitive deliveries, and navigating routes that connect rural farms to processing facilities.

Tip-Top Milk Director Anika Niehaus added: “Our business is built on trust, ethics, and deep respect for the people who make it possible. We are proud to be part of an evolving industry and to stand behind women who are not only breaking barriers but also setting new standards.”
