Man’s body found floating in Evaton stream

The deceased was seen by a young boy.

EVATON – An inquest docket has been opened by the Evaton police after the body of a man was found next to a river stream on Tuesday.

It is said that on September 9, at about 11:00, the police received a complaint of a body floating in a stream next to the old Evaton Police Station.

The deceased was seen by a young boy.

Upon the police’s arrival, they found the body of an unknown man, believed to be aged +- 40 years.

“After the unknown black male was taken out of the stream by the divers, the paramedics checked him, and they declared him dead with no visible injuries on him. The deceased is unknown at present,” said police spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi.

Msibi added that the deceased was wearing a blue T Shirt, brown trousers, and was dark in complexion.

The Evaton SAPS is appealing to anyone who might have information or anyone who might have a missing person of that description to please contact Evaton Police station on 071 675 7225 or 10111.
