SEBOKENG.- The Vaal football community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of one of its most beloved legends, Joe ‘Bier and Vleis’ Moloi, who passed away on Monday at his home in Zone 10.
This sad news was confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the South African Masters and Legends Football Association Sedibeng (SAMLFA), of which Moloi was an active and respected member. Moloi, affectionately known as ‘Bier and Vleis’ in football circles, will be laid to rest on Sunday.
The funeral service will be held at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre from 8:00 to 11:00.
Moloi was well known for his dedication to football, particularly within the masters and legends teams in Sedibeng.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport on behalf of SAMLFA, Love Moremi said Moloi will be remembered for his undying love for football. Moremi said Moloi played a significant role in the growth of masters and legends football in Sedibeng.
“He was an interesting character in local football with his loud voice, screaming to his own teammates during matches. As SAMLFA, we send our heartfelt condolences to the Moloi family, his friends, and colleagues. We invite all our members and the community to come in numbers and give Bra Joe the dignified send-off he truly deserves,” said Moremi.
Meanwhile, SAMLFA chairperson in Sedibeng Themba Mokoena also shared his sentiments, revealing that upon hearing of Moloi’s passing, he and other members of the organisation rushed to his home to support the family and begin funeral preparations.
