VANDERBIJLPARK.- Khutlo-Tharo Secondary School has been crowned the 2025 U14 Gauteng Schools Wednesday Championship League netball champions.

This final was played on September 23 at Isak Steyl Stadium, marking the conclusion of an action-packed day that featured netball, soccer for both boys and girls, and volleyball for both boys and girls.

The Vaal was well represented, with Khutlo-Tharo Secondary School crowned the undisputed champions, delivering a par excellence performance in the final against Tsholofelo Secondary School. It was a fast-flowing game of netball with both schools having attack after attack, keeping both schools’ supporters on the edge of their seats.

With strong support from the local district Department of Education and nearby schools,  Khutlo-Tharo Secondary School fought back and won this game to be crowned the winner.

When the referee blew the final whistle, it was pure joy with everyone invading the court to celebrate with the players. It was dancing, singing, hugging, and kissing with tears of joy that was the order of the day.

School principal Maisela Madisha was among the first to congratulate the team. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Madisha expressed his pride.

“The game was very tight, and as Khutlo-Tharo, we are very proud of our girls. They showcased incredible talent. I want to thank them and their coaches, and everyone who contributed to the team’s success. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the support from our district officials. They were here in numbers to support our school as we were representing the Sedibeng region,” said Madisha.
