Gatvol ELFA teams demand immediate meeting
“We can’t tolerate this anymore, and we demand the immediate convening of an AGM where all these issues will be addressed."
SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) teams are up in arms in an attempt to remove the executive members in power.
Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that a petition is circulating, and the Super League and junior soccer teams are asked to sign. The teams demand the immediate convening of an Extraordinary General Meeting (AGM).
This request is supported by the undersigned member clubs, which collectively constitute more than one-third of the total LFA membership, thereby fulfilling the constitutional requirement for calling this meeting. The decision to request the immediate convening of an AGM is based on the following: failure to pay outstanding league prizes, and winners of the Promotional League and Juniors League have yet to receive their officially promised and budgeted prize monies.
The teams claim that for the past few years, the ELFA executive has failed to take the association in the right direction.
They told Sedibeng Ster Sport that their executive committee is not functioning except for the leagues.
“We can’t tolerate this anymore, and we demand the immediate convening of an AGM where all these issues will be addressed. It is high time they account to the club. Their stay in the office is long overdue because nothing is happening.”
“They cannot expect us to start the Super Promotion League when they still owe us last season’s prize money. We are going to hold them accountable because every season is the same story. We play the leagues, but at the end of the season, we don’t get what is due to us, which is our prizes. We spend our money on affiliation and also on transport to the game, but at the end of the season we get nothing,” said the clubs’ officials.
