SEDIBENG.- No doubt, Remember Elite Sport Academy (RESA) forward Siyabonga Mbongo will be part of the South Africa U17 National Team that will represent the country in the 2026 U17 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar.
Amajimbos is set to jet out of the country to Qatar this weekend.
However, at the time of going to print, U17 National Team coach Vela Khumalo still had to announce the team.
However, the unconfirmed reports are that the South African Football Association (SAFA) already submitted the players to FIFA on Monday.

Mbongo was part of the Amajimbos team that was crowned the CAF Total Energies COSAFA Cup champions. He played a crucial part, scoring a winning goal when Amajimbos beat Angola 2-1 in the final.
This is the reason Sedibeng Ster Sport thinks he will be part of the players representing SA in this big event in the football calendar. He is in top form for his team, RESA, which plays in the Gauteng Development League.
When asked if they had already received correspondence from SAFA, Xolani Matumba, RESA’s managing director, said they were still waiting for communication from the association.
However, Matumba was quick to point out that “Siya scored a winning goal for Amajimbos when they were crowned the COSAFA Cup champions,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.

South Africa is in Group A alongside hosts Qatar, Italy, and Bolivia.
This is their second appearance in the FIFA U17 World Cup, following their debut in 2015 under Molefi Ntseki.
They will start their World Cup campaign against Bolivia on November 3 and the hosting nation on November 6. They will play their last game against Italy on November 9.
