Racism my voet!

This kind of pawn shop owner’s attitude – “take it or leave"- doesn’t belong to football.

SEDIBENG.- Just like an old Western Classic movie with the same tittle – “The Bad, The Good and The Ugly.

The same can be said about the current situation at the Emfuleni Local Football Association (LFA) with the teams being at the loggerheads with the executive members over accountability.

However, this situation has come out of hands with some executive committee members play a race card instead of facing the reality. Racism my voet!

MATTER OF FACT, Zakes’ Sports Corner is of the opinion that the ELFA executive members use racism to cover their own blinder. This matter has nothing to do with racism but what transpired at the association.

The clubs had enough as they demand immediately convening of Extraordinary General Meeting (AGM) to held the executive members accountable.

However, their response to the clubs’ demands was personal as it addresses individual. Zakes’ Sports Corner is in the position of the email whereby one of the ELFA top officials warned the club’s owner to “stop racist campaign and never send him any email on his private email as non member of ELFA”.

This was unfortunately response for the senior official to use race card in the matter that has nothing to do with racism.

Zakes’ Sport Corner understanding is that, this was a collective decision but for some reason known to him, he decided to addressed an individual instead of the whole clubs. This is a serious matter and Zakes’ Sports Corner challenges this top official to apologise to this club’s official.

The truth is that, our football deserves better than this especially leadership. To make it things worse, the same executive committee member serve at SAFA national office nogal.

He should know better the consequences of bring race card in the whole situation.

As things stand, we have local development soccer teams from white communities that are part of the ELFA.

This kind of pawn shop owner’s attitude – “take it or leave”- doesn’t belong to football.

SAFA national office my intervene before they pay lawyers to defend their members or LFA in court of law for using race card where it is not necessary. ELFA must write an apology to that club’s official or banned from football for using racism’s remarks.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
