Several accused convicted for serious crimes in Sedibeng

SEDIBENG.- The South African Police Service in Sedibeng District has welcomed several convictions secured in serious crime cases investigated across police stations within the district.

Sergeant  Thembeka Maxambela Sedibeng District Corporate Communication said that these outcomes highlight the continued commitment of the SAPS to ensure justice for victims and the safety of our communities.

SEBOKENG SAPS

Charge: Possession of Unlicensed Firearm
Accused: Mafa Ramapepe (38 years)
Sentence: 5 years imprisonment, wholly suspended for 5 years

ORANGE FARMS SAPS

Charge: Carjacking
Accused: Mvelo Majola (34 years)
Sentence: 20 years imprisonment

Charge: Possession of Stolen Vehicle
Accused: Mvelo Majola (34 years)
Sentence: 5 years imprisonment

EVATON SAPS

Charge: Business Robbery
Accused: Mvelo Majola (34 years)
Sentence: 20 years imprisonment

Charge: Armed Robbery
Accused: Mvelo Majola (34 years)
Sentence: 20 years imprisonment

SEBOKENG SAPS

Charge: House Robbery
* Accused 1: Tofo Rambo (40 years)
Sentence: 2 years imprisonment, wholly suspended for 3 years
* Accused 2: Thabiso Skosana (51 years)
Sentence:
▪ House Robbery – 8 years imprisonment
▪ Murder – 10 years imprisonment
▪ Declared unfit to possess a firearm

EVATON SAPS

Charge: House Robbery
Accused: Mpumelelo Makhutha (37 years)
Sentence: 15 years imprisonment
Additional: Declared unfit to possess a firearm

Sedibeng District Commissioner, Major General Nkhensani Mukhwevho, commended the dedicated detectives and prosecutors who ensured that justice was served.
