Powerlines damaged due to a storm

"A truck later drove into one of the lines, resulting in damage to the windscreen of the truck."

SEDIBENG.- National electricity supplier, Eskom, announced that powerlines were damaged following a storm in the area, causing them to hang low today, Wednesday.

“A truck later drove into one of the lines, resulting in damage to the windscreen of the truck. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained as the line had already been isolated.”

The following areas are affected:

  1. De Deur
  2. Emfuleni Local Municipality
  3. Midvaal Municipality
  4. Orkeville
  5. Rust- Ter-Vaal

“ Our teams are currently repairing the damaged infrastructure, and we anticipate completing all work and restoring supply to the affected areas by 20:00.  We apologise for the inconvenience this causes.”
