SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng Volleyball Girls Team defied all odds when they brought home gold medals.
This was after they were crowned the champions of the OR Tambo Sonchini Games, held at Ellis Park Tennis Arena over the weekend.

The team represented Sedibeng in this annual tournament and won all their games. On the other hand, the Sedibeng Volleyball Boys Team brought home a silver medal. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Joseph Manzi said that as the Sedibeng Volleyball Union, they are proud of the performance of both teams.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the teams went to this tournament well prepared, thanks to the coaches and technical staff. He was full of compliments for what the players achieved in the field of play, holding themselves against the best. He said the results are there for everyone to see, with medals being a symbol of success.

“We are very proud of Sedibeng for bringing good results in our region, and we are very thankful to the players who represented us with distinction. They really put up a brave fight against the best in the court, and they believed in their players. They were never intimidated by the environment, to say the least. As the Sedibeng Volleyball Union, we would also like to thank all the parents who trusted us and allowed their children to travel with us to Johannesburg. We also like to thank the three municipalities and the Department of Sports and Recreation for the support,” said Manzi.
