Local runners dare the rain in purple for cancer awareness

Not even the rain could stop these local daredevils from running for a good cause.

MEYERTON – A group of local runners braved the rain on Friday afternoon, October 31, to take part in the annual Hollard Daredevil Run — a nationwide event where participants don purple Speedos to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.

The group met at Riverstone Mall and ran along Pierneef Boulevard to Mochachos Chicken before returning to the mall, joining thousands of men across South Africa in support of men’s health.

Participants showed their support in style, wearing distinctive orange socks sponsored by Ver-Bolt.
