ELM holds cemetery digital workshop

"To reduce errors such as double allocation and long waiting periods."

SEDIBENG. – To reduce errors such as double allocation and long waiting periods, the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) hosted funeral undertaker at the Mayor’s Parlour in Vanderbijlpark on Tuesday.

The workshop was based on the new Cemetery Digital System.

The municipality said that the session aimed to introduce the digital system, improve cemetery record management, and strengthen service delivery to our communities.

It will also reduce errors such as double allocation and long waiting periods.

“The new system will move the Municipality from manual registers to a centralised digital database for all cemeteries. This will allow for real time tracking of available graves, efficient allocation, accurate historical records, and faster service for bereaved families. It will also reduce errors such as double allocation and long waiting periods,” said the ELM.

Input from funeral undertakers during the workshop was critical to ensure the system works effectively for all users.
