Sekhukhune United hosts Durban City in DDC in Vaal

The home team, United, is not the same as last season.

SEDIBENG.- DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) action will be back in the Vaal with Sekhukhune United hosting Durban City at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark on Saturday.

Kick-off time is at 12:00.

United comes into this game after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Ts Galaxy, while City comes into this encounter after a 1-1 draw against the defending champions Kaizer Chiefs. This encounter is important for both teams, looking at the log standings, with United dropping to 12th place on the log while City occupies 10th place.

The home team, United, is not the same as last season.

But having said this, you can’t fault them, they are a young and inexperienced team compared to last season.

On the other hand, it is City’s first season campaign in the DDC after their senior team was promoted to top-flight football at the beginning of the season. Looking at the top of the log, Orlando Pirates are leading at the top with 22 points from nine games. They extended their lead at the top after they beat the second-place Mamelodi Sundowns 5-1 in DDC over the weekend. This was the highest defeat since the DDC season started this year.

Despite the defeat, Sundowns still occupies second spot on the log with 19 points from the same number of games as Sundowns.

In fact, there are no changes at the top of the log, with the same three teams still maintaining their lead. However, it is too early to make a prediction about which team will be crowned the champions.

For now, Pirates look like a serious contender for the title if their current form is anything to go by.
