SEDIBENG.- It’s official!
Local boys Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshepang Moremi made the final Bafana Bafana 25-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This African continental showpiece is scheduled to take place in Morocco this month, with Bafana Bafana in Group B alongside powerhouses such as Egypt, Angola, and Zimbabwe. These two talented youngsters from Sharpeville will carry the hopes of the nation, marking a historic moment as players from the same hometown represent South Africa on such a big stage.

Mofokeng and Moremi have been outstanding for Orlando Pirates since the beginning of the season, consistently contributing to each of Pirates’ wins, either by scoring or assisting. Their overall performances make their selection for AFCON well-deserved.
To make it more interesting, the two are part of Pirates’ nine players who have been selected for the national team. Both youngsters impressed Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos in the Betway Premier Soccer League.
When Broos announced the final team, the Sharpeville community went crazy in jubilation when he called the duo’s names. Neighbours and friends even visited their parents to congratulate them.
Sedibeng Ster Sport is convinced the two will make their presence felt in this continental tournament.
