EVATON.- At this time of the year, yours truly, self-appointed Minister of Sports, otherwise known as Zakes’ Sports Corner, spends time watching kasi football.

For the past few days, Zakes’ Sports Corner has been attending the annual Pooe Festive Soccer Tournament in Evaton.

This is one of the biggest tournaments at this time of the year in Gauteng. They call it the Kasi World Cup or Sedibeng Kasi World Cup for obvious reasons.

This tournament attracts teams all over, with soccer fans as far as the Free State and Johannesburg coming to watch this tournament.It is action galore, with soccer fans enjoying every moment.

The venue is always packed from morning until the afternoon.It is a great atmosphere at Kasi football.

However, Zakes Sports Corner has noted with keen interest that this tournament changes the lives of the neighbouring communities in the sense that they sell food, refreshments, and all sorts of things during the tournament.
