Head-on collision between Petrus Steyn and Heilbron
Tragically, four adults and two children were reportedly declared deceased at the scene.
FREE STATE. – A serious head-on collision occurred on the R57 between Petrus Steyn and Heilbron at approximately 10:20 today.
Emergency services and law enforcement are reported to have responded promptly and are currently on site managing the incident.
The collision resulted in multiple casualties.
Two people sustained critical injuries and were transported to Tokollo Hospital in Heilbron for further medical treatment. Tragically, four adults and two children were reportedly declared deceased at the scene, with several victims trapped in the vehicles involved.
Road users were warned to expect significant delays in the area.
Meanwhile, Motorists were advised to exercise extreme caution, maintain safe following distances, and consider using alternative routes such as the R34 or R76 where possible. Emergency services continued to work on scene to secure the area and support those affected.
