Christmas visit honours late footballer Ayush Singh

Vijay Singh honours late son Ayush with Christmas visit to Flair Feet Stars FC

VANDERBIJLPARK – The early Christmas visit to Flair Feet Stars FC was a tribute to the enduring legacy of Ayush Singh, a talented young footballer remembered for his passion and values, who passed away in 2023.

The club recently welcomed Vijay Singh, father of the late player, who donated football equipment on behalf of the Ayush Singh Foundation. The equipment was donated by friends and family as a way to keep Ayush’s memory alive and support young players who share his passion for the game.

Ayush previously played for Johannesburg-based Panorama FC and was widely respected for his discipline, humility and talent. His passing was a shock to the football community and left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Flair Feet Stars FC is home to young footballers from Vanderbijlpark as well as underprivileged areas such as Sebokeng, Savannah City and Orange Farm, providing opportunities for children from different communities to develop their skills and pursue their dreams.

Flair Feet Stars head coach Nnamdi John, who coached Ayush during his early years at Panorama FC, described him as a player who stood out both on and off the field.

“Ayush was one of the most respectful and committed players I have ever worked with; he had talent, discipline and humility. His loss was devastating, but visits like this remind us that his spirit still lives through football.”

Beyond the sport, Ayush was also passionate about music, karate and playing the guitar, reflecting his well-rounded and disciplined character.

Singh said the foundation was established to ensure that his son’s love for football, karate and music continues to benefit young people.

“Coach John played a major role in shaping Ayush’s life,” he said. “He taught him discipline, respect and self-belief, and we will always be grateful for that. Ayush was a selfless boy who loved football deeply, and through the foundation, we want to support young players and keep his name alive.”

Flair Feet Stars captain Michael Ferreira thanked the foundation for the donation, saying it would play an important role in the club’s development.

“These resources will help our players grow and chase their dreams,” Ferreira said. “Knowing Ayush’s story motivates us to honour his legacy every time we play.”

The visit powerfully underscored how Ayush Singh’s legacy continues to inspire hope, unity, and ambition among young footballers.
