Keabecoe Moiloa Foundation supports community education initiative
"She not only provided her space but also hired a tent and offered meals to our staff for the full four days of the programme. Her support played a critical role in the success of this initiative."
SHARPEVILLE.- The Keabecoe Moiloa Foundation NPO, based in Sharpeville, an education-focused organisation recently helped matriculants register (late) at tertiary institutions.
The NPO offers homework assistance programmes, aftercare services, Saturday school, and school holiday programmes as part of its services.
“We work closely with schools and education districts and are fully aware of the ongoing challenges faced by learners, particularly regarding school placements. During the academic year, the Foundation supports its own beneficiaries with Grade 8 placements. In 2025, we identified an urgent need to assist 2026 Matriculants with late school applications, especially as the Foundation now has access to a computer centre located at 9201 Kensington, Sharpeville,” said the Foundations’ Founder, Keabecoe Moiloa.

Unfortunately, the centre could not be used due to a lack of electricity caused by a faulty transformer in Kessington.
“In response, we reached out to the community through Facebook and WhatsApp, requesting a venue or a generator. While several community members generously offered their homes, these options were not suitable due to distance and logistical challenges. We then approached Ausi Cecelia, the owner of Rings Café Shisanyama, who kindly agreed to host the programme. She not only provided her space but also hired a tent and offered meals to our staff for the full four days of the programme. Her support played a critical role in the success of this initiative.”

Moloa said that they were further supported by Kabona Accessories, Sista Mphoza Services, Modisana Mabale, Kelebogile Makhudu, and Lebohang Molebatsi, who came on board to assist the Foundation in various ways.
“The programme ran from 14 to 16 January, between 09:00 and 17:00, during which we successfully assisted 84 learners from Sharpeville, Sasolburg, Beverly Hills, Sebokeng, and the East Rand with their applications.”
This collaboration proved to be a highly successful and impactful initiative.
As a result, Keabecoe Moiloa Foundation NPO has committed to continuing the matric support programme annually to ensure that learners are not left behind due to late applications or lack of access to resources.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents who entrusted us with their children, community members who supported the initiative, more especially our partners. Together, we are building a stronger future for our learners and our community.”
