SHARPEVILLE.- Perfect Academy’s hunt for the league title suffered a big blow on Saturday as they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Cheeky Boys Institute FC at George Thabe Stadium.

Despite their reputation as the most feared team in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League, Perfect Academy were outclassed by the younger visitors. The defeat, combined with results elsewhere, sees Ben 10 FC move to the top of the log after they were awarded three points when Sebokeng United Brothers FC failed to show up for their fixture.

Cheeky Boys arrived late and barely had time to warm up, yet they controlled the game. enjoyed the freedom of the field, toying around with Perfect Academy. Perfect Academy fielded a weakened side, seemingly underestimating their opponents.

The game went to halftime with the scoreboard showing 0-0.

Home team supporters were not happy with their team’s performance, noting that several players appeared to lack match fitness.
In the second half, Perfect Academy made some changes, but the visitors remained in control. All three goals were scored in this period, resulting in a 2-1 win for Cheeky Boys.
