Bull recovered following stock theft incident in Mooilande

Police recovered one stolen bull valued at R10 000 after two cattle and two sheep were taken from a Mooilande plot on February 20.

The police received a distress call from a Mooilande plot owner who reported that her two cattle and two sheep had been stolen from her property. The incident happened on February 20.

Working together, Vaal Marina, Vereeniging SAPS, and the K9 unit swiftly responded to the scene and began with preliminary investigations, which led them to an area just a few kilometres away from the plot.

A Mooilande plot owner was given back her bull, worth an estimated value of R10 000.

Speaking to Ster North, police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that the team followed the tracks of the animals to an abandoned plot where they discovered one bull.
Maxambela said there were visible signs of a struggle with the other cow and sheep, as well as tracks of a vehicle that possibly loaded the animals.

The owner was contacted and positively identified the recovered bull, which is valued at approximately R10 000. The animal was subsequently returned to her. Maxambela adds that the other animals, worth an estimated value of R15 000, are still missing.
