2026 Super8 Knockout Cup
Winners take all, as there are no prizes for the runners-up. It is do or die!

BOPHELONG.- It is that time of year again.
Local football teams are preparing to battle it out for the annual Duku Duku Super8 Knockout Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Ext 14 Ground in Muvhango, Bophelong, from March 7–8. As one of the biggest kasi football events in the Vaal, the stakes have never been higher. The winning team will walk away with a R20 000 cash prize and a sheep.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Molifi ‘Duku Duku’ Mahlangu said this year’s tournament takes place in March, not in June like previous years.
This tournament attracts some of the powerhouses of local football teams in the Vaal.
The Muvhango and Bophelong communities are expected to come in numbers to support this initiative.
Mahlangu said the winners take all, as there are no prizes for the runners-up. It is do or die!
“Registrations for the tournament are open for all teams, it is first come, first served,” he added.
“We are looking forward to this year’s Super8 Knockout Cup and, like all these years, it is going to be exciting,” Mahlangu told Sedibeng Ster Sport. “This is kasi football, whereby these youngsters showcase their talent.”
