Five suspects appear in court for allegedly killing a man with own gun

EVATON.- Five suspect who are under arrest, charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm will be making their second appearance in court today and tomorrow at the Sebokeng Magistrates Court respectively.
Four suspects will be appearing together today, while another, a 16-year-old minor will be making his appearance tomorrow.
Last Wednesday, at about 22:10, the Evaton Police were summoned to Levai Mbatha Clinic for a case of death on arrival.
Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said that upon arrival, they found a deceased man aged 29 covered on the patient stretcher.

“Upon inspection, the deceased had a gunshot wound on his chest and a stab wound on his left side of his head. The deceased was with his brother and neighbour at the tuck shop when a group of unruly gangsters approached them with pangas.”
Msibi added that the deceased fired his authorised firearm once in the air as a warning.

“The group dispersed and regrouped. The suspect, a man aged 20, approached the deceased, telling him to shoot at his forehead. The deceased fired a second warning shot in the air, walking backward from the suspect and his accomplices. A struggle ensued and deceased firearm was taken from him and was shot by one of them with his own firearm.”
The deceased was taken to Levai Mbatha Clinic in Evaton for medical assistance and was declared dead by emergency personnel.
The five suspects aged between 16 and 20 years were traced and arrested by the Evaton police.
