Msane honoured by NSA
“My knees and feet were weak. It was a real honour for me to sit with giants like Marien Wanger"
SHARPEVILLE.- Dudu Msane is one of the former netball coaches and presidents who were rewarded for their contribution to Netball South Africa (NSA).
This award ceremony took place at the Garden Court in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, on Saturday.
Msane and other former coaches, presidents, and empires were honoured for their loyalty and contribution to the development of netball. Msane and others were honoured by Netball South Africa’s president, Mami Diale.

Diale said this award ceremony was to celebrate the incredible time they dedicated to shaping the sport, producing talent, instilling values, and discipline. She said these are the people who paved the way for the current generation of coaches, administrators, players, empires, and presidents.

“I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge these selfless individuals who contributed their entire lives to netball. Today, we benefit because of the people who started this sport. I want to say thank you for making Netball South Africa what it is today. If it wasn’t for you, I don’t think we would be where we are today. These are the people who laid the foundation of our sport in this country,” said Diale.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Msane said it was a great moment for her to be in the same room with the great legends of this sport.
“My knees and feet were weak. It was a real honour for me to sit with giants like Marien Wanger, who is the first Netball South Africa coach after isolation. We reflected on where we come from in this sport. I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life,” said Msane.
To date, Msane is still involved in Sedibeng Netball and owns the Avalon Netball Club.
