Social Development visits Jamela

The purpose of the visit was to assess compliance with departmental norms and standards.

SEDIBENG. – The Gauteng Department of Social Development Social Workers, in collaboration with representatives from the office of the Premier, the Presidency, and the Jamela Rehabilitation Centre Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, conducted a monitoring and evaluation site visit at Jamela Rehabilitation Centre in Vanderbijlpark, last Thursday.

The purpose of the visit was to assess compliance with departmental norms and standards, review programme implementation, and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery to beneficiaries. The delegation engaged with management and staff, observed service provision, and reviewed operational processes. Constructive observations, critical questions, and valuable feedback were provided to support continuous improvement.

“This engagement strengthened accountability, enhanced programme quality, and reinforced the Centre’s commitment to delivering effective, client centred rehabilitation services,” the department said.
