Pirates’ regional supporters hold elections
The purpose of the vote was to elect the new leadership team that will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch’s affairs.
VEREENIGING.- Orlando Pirates Sedibeng South Region held their branch elections in Debonair Park on Sunday.
The purpose of the vote was to elect the new leadership team that will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch’s affairs.
These elections were hailed as a great success by the Sedibeng South Region publicist, Mzwakhe Zondo.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Zondo confirmed the elections went smoothly under the supervision of the regional leadership. Zondo expressed confidence that the new executive members would help the branch grow by recruiting more members.

Zondo noted that Orlando Pirates has always been popular in Sedibeng, dating back to the era of the late Johannes ‘Mzion’ Mofokeng.
The club’s strong connection to the region is clear, as several local players currently play for the Mighty Buccaneers, including Relebohile Mofokeng, Tshepang Moremi, Mpho Chabatsane, Thabiso Lebitso, and Boitumelo Radiopane.

Mofokeng and Moremi, both from Sharpeville, are key players for the club and also members of Bafana Bafana.

They are expected to be part of Hugo Broos’ team that will represent the country in the Fifa World Cup 2026.
“I must say, I’m happy with how the election went, and do notdoubt that those who have been elected are the right people to take this branch to another level. We are going to give them the necessary support as the regional leadership,” said Zondo.
