“We do not care about the coalition; we want service delivery”: ActionSA Sedibeng

" Give the people services".

SEDIBENG.- ActionSA Sedibeng has announced that it does not care what happens to the ANC Sedibeng coalition with smaller parties in both the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) and the Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM).

Bongani Dhlamini, ActionSA Sedibeng Chairperson, said this following this week’s announcement by the ruling party that it had severed ties with the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC).

Sedibeng Ster wrote, earlier this week, that the African National Congress (ANC) in Sedibeng is currently engaging in talks with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to replace the Pan Africanist Congress (EFF) as its coalition partner in Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) and Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM).

ANC Sedibeng Secretary, Jason Mkhwane had announced that they are ending the coalition partnership with the PAC because of their recent contestation/s of positions in the ELM and the SDM.

Together with other smaller political parties, the PAC is (was) in coalition with the ANC in both the SDM and the ELM. The PAC also tabled a Motion of No Confidence (MoNC) against Lerato Maloka, SDM Mayor.

The party had planned to table another MoNC against ELM Mayor, Sipho Radebe soon.

Radebe fired MMC Kantso

In a quick move on Wednesday, a move that the PAC welcomed, ELM Mayor Sipho Radebe removed Mbuyiselo Kantso, as his Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Agriculture, Local Economic Development Planning and Tourism in the municipality, effective immediately, on April 8.

It is time to kick out this failed leadership

Dhlamini said, “ActionSA doesn’t care about Sedibeng’s ANC led coalition soap opera that is distractive, unless the political arrangement produces immediate tangible service delivery results for Sedibeng residents. Residents no longer need fruitless governance defined by infighting and self-interest. It is time to kick out this failed leadership and install a government accountable to the people.”

EFF Gauteng spokesperson, Dumisani Baleni, said that the EFF continuously engages different political organisations including the ANC, in an attempt to establish a stable government that delivers services.

“We have also been in conversations with the ANC in the Gauteng Provincial and in Sedibeng and Emfuleni about serious concerns of service delivery, state of finances and governance.”
