Zodwa Msukwini is a seasoned Traditional Gospel Artist

"I want to change the gospel industry, and with my experience it is possible."

SEDIBENG.- When Zodwa Msukwini started to sing in church at the age of ten, little did she know that one day she would be living her childhood dream.

Msukwini is a Traditional Gospel Artist, semi categorised as Soon Gospel.

“It all started in church…”

She grew up in Heidelberg and later relocated to Evaton West. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Msukwini revealed how it all started for her. In heart-to-heart interview, she said it all started in church, singing for the Apostolic Church Choir when she was only ten years. Her singing passion led her to join the school’s clap and tap choir.

Life changed when she was baptised

Her life change forever when she was baptised, and she became a commited member of Zion Christian Church (ZCC) in 2004. She was the first female to be appointed as the church female conductor in 2012.
In 2020 she persuade her solo music career and recorded her first album ‘Mmuso wa Mahodimo’.

This album featured the hit track ‘Modimo Ke Moya’.

The album sold 500 copies

Msukwini said this album sold more than 500 copies. As if this was not enough, she later recorded 10 track album with Blue Black Studio produced by Terence Morgan under the title ‘Kgumama of Rapele’. Msukwini’s music is a reflection of her faith with songs that inspire and uplift souls.

She will soon feature ‘Sister Boss’

She revealed to Sedibeng Ster that she is now busy composing tribute song for her late parents where she will be featuring Salome Pilane, otherwise, know as ‘Sister Boss’ which will be available soon.

“Look, because of my passion in music as an independent Gospel Artist my dream is to open ‘Clap and tap’ female gospel choir where everyone is welcome to join. I want to change the gospel industry, and with my experience it is possible. I have been in this industry for a long time to know the ‘ins and outs’ of it. I was very fortunate to work with people who showed me the ropes in this music industry. Now I’m a grown up artist.”
