Murder suspect arrested in Orange Farm
It is alleged that the deceased had a previous conflict with the alleged suspect.
ORANGE FARM.– A suspect is behind bars after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death on Tuesday afternoon in Lakeside Ext 5.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Shaan Motsapi, said that the police were summoned to a murder scene, and upon arrival, a lifeless body was found lying on the street.

It is alleged that the deceased had a previous conflict with the alleged suspect.
“After an altercation, the suspect reportedly went home and came back with a knife (Okapi). The fight started, and the suspect stabbed the deceased in the neck,” Motsapi said.
The young man died from his injuries at the scene.

Motsapi confirmed that the community apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the authorities. Following an immediate investigation by the police, the murder weapon was tracked down and recovered from the suspect’s hiding place.
The suspect is currently being held at the Orange Farm Police Station.
He is expected to appear at the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of murder.
