Mamello gets a health boost from ‘Siyabaphilisa’

Residents accessed vital services, including HIV testing, pap smears, TB testing and PSA screening.

SEDIBENG.- On Wednesday (August 19), the MEC for Health and Wellness, Faith Mazibuko, led the ‘Siyabaphilisa’ programme in Mamello informal settlement in Vaal Marina, Meyerton.

The event brought essential healthcare and support services closer to the community.

Residents accessed vital services, including HIV testing, pap smears, TB testing and PSA screening. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) assisted the community by checking whether they are registered to vote.

As part of the programme, the MEC also visited households, engaging directly with residents, listening to their challenges and understanding how government can best assist and connect them with the services and support they need.
