SEBOKENG. The Sebokeng police are appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating 44-year-old Jeremiah Khanye, who has been reported missing.

It is alleged that on July 24, he left his place of residence in Rietspruit, Sebokeng, without informing his family of his destination.

His whereabouts have since remained unknown.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, said that family members conducted searches in the surrounding areas but were unable to locate Khanye as they became increasingly concerned after noticing that he had not eaten.

“ Jeremiah is mentally challenged and does not speak fluently, which may make it difficult for him to communicate or provide information about his identity and whereabouts,” explained Mokhachane who added that at the time of his disappearance, Khanye was wearing black trousers, a black top and grey shoes.

Sebokeng SAPS urges anyone who may have seen Khanye or has information regarding his whereabouts to come forward and assist the police and his family in ensuring his safe return.

Members of the public are urged not to approach or place themselves at risk, but to immediately notify the police if they encounter a person matching Jeremiah’s description.
