SEBOKENG.- The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s (GPL) Health & Wellness Portfolio Committee members were on the ground at Sebokeng Hospital and Levai Mbatha CHC last week, assessing how health facilities are coping with the needs of communities.

At Sebokeng Hospital:

The Committee noted ongoing challenges around staffing, space, patient records and laundry services. These are some service delivery gaps that are not unique to this health facility with mostly being dependent on the department of health for intervention.

At Levai Mbatha CHC:

The Committee assessed capacity, equipment, budget utilisation and digitisation, with network connectivity among the challenges raised. A follow-up presentation will provide further insight into the facility’s challenges and achievements.

The committee listened to both the staff and the community the committee members also asked tough questions and ensuring that challenges are not simply noted, but addressed for enhanced health services in the province.

Meanwhile, the Sedibeng Health Services said that the committee assessed key areas that contribute to a positive patient experience and quality healthcare.
