Enough is Enough: Stop GBV!
“We walked in memory of every woman and girl whose life has been taken through gender-based violence and further we walked for the women and children left behind."
SEDIBENG.- The Thuthuzela Care Centre, together with Kopanong District Hospital employees, came together for an awareness 5KM walk against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Arconpark, Vereeniging on Friday.
This walk is more than just a journey of 5 kilometres as it was also in sympathy with the nine women who were found killed in and around Kempton Park recently.

The Sedibeng District Health Services said that the walk was an awareness, remembrance, solidarity, and a call for change in South Africa.
“We walked in memory of every woman and girl whose life has been taken through gender-based violence and further we walked for the women and children left behind. We walked for survivors who continue to find the strength to speak out may their voices continue to be loud until a change is there,” the marching employees said.

Most importantly, they added, “We walked to remind our communities that GBV is not a private matter, it affects all of us. Let us come together and use our voices, our presence, and our collective strength to say: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Our streets should be places where everyone feels safe. Our homes should be places of love and protection.”
