SEDIBENG.- Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has called up Tshepang Moremi to replace injured Kaizer Chiefs’ Lebohang Maboe.

According to the South African Football Association (SAFA), Maboe was withdrawn from the team after suffering an ankle injury when Chiefs played a goalless draw against Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership over the weekend.

This will be the first official match for Mosimane.

Mosimane has since called up Moremi, who was not initially part of the Bafana Bafana team that will face Guinea in the African Cup of Nations Qualifiers at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.

This will be the first official match for Mosimane since he was appointed as Bafana Bafana’s coach.

Moremi was initially part of Mosimane’s preliminary squad but didn’t make the final cut.

This was despite Moremi’s success under coach Hugo Broos.

Moremi will reunite with Mofokeng.

This Orlando Pirates left-footed forward had a great time at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and formed a deadly combination with his home boys Relebohile Mofokeng and Thapelo Maseko.

The three are known as Vaal Tribble ‘M’ because their surnames start with the letter ‘M’.

Now, Moremi will reunite with Mofokeng.

Moremi and Mofokeng were teammates at Orlando Pirates before Mofokeng moved to Belgium to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise after Bafana Bafana was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2026. It came as a shock when Mosimane dropped Moremi, considering he was an important part of the Bafana Bafana squad under Broos.
