SHARPEVILLE.- A newly established (not yet named) netball team from Phase 3, Sharpeville near Cape Gate is looking for good Samaritans that can help them with equipment for training and playing purposes.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the club founder and member, Paulina Moitheri, said that they want to join a netball league but their only challenge is that they do not have the proper training and playing kit. Moitheri said that she decided to form this team after she realized that many young girls in Phase 3 are idling.
“They have nothing to do especially when it is school holidays or during weekends. When I started this netball club I also realized that most of the young girls in the area don’t participate in sports,” she said.
Moitheri further told Sedibeng Ster Sport that she wants to see her team competing against powerhouses of netball in this region and South Africa as a whole.
