Sedibeng hots males netball trials
All male netball players who are registered members of the federation are urged to take part.
SEBOKENG.- Sedibeng Netball Federation is set to host male netball trials at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14 on May 31.
The main purpose of these trials is to choose a male regional squad to represent Sedibeng at the upcoming National Championships.
All registered males urged to take part
Fakazile Nkitseng from the Sedibeng Netball Federation shared this news with Sedibeng Ster Sport. Nkitseng is urging all male netball players who are registered members of the federation to take part.
The trials are open to both U23 and senior male players.
The selected squad will head to Nelson Mandela University in the Eastern Cape for the national tournament. Nkitseng proudly announced that the federation has grown to over 500 members.
Thanks to this milestone, they have qualified to send two teams per division to the national championships, including the U23 A and B teams, and the Senior A and B teams.
“The standard of netball development will improve.”
Expressing her satisfaction with the progress made by the federation, Nkitseng stated she is confident the standard of netball development will improve, even in the poorest communities across Sedibeng.
She noted that they are moving in the right direction, and the growing numbers show that their hard work is paying off.
“The numbers are not lying…”
Their recent visits to revive netball across all three local municipalities were highly successful. Nkitseng added that she wants to see netball played throughout the Sedibeng community. Looking ahead, she also revealed that they will be heading to Ratanda in Heidelberg this weekend for another project.
“The numbers are not lying, and this is what we have been wishing to improve netball in all our communities. Our visit to all three municipalities to revive netball in those communities was a huge success. We are moving at a fast pace, and the results are there for everyone to see how hard we have been working,” she said.
