SEDIBENG.- Vaal football fans are in for a feast of action as the DStv Diski Challenge and the ABC Motsepe League 2026/2027 season kick off at the end of the month.

Both leagues start on the same weekend, leaving local supporters spoilt for choice.

Fans can eagerly anticipate watching Ben 10 FC, Boipatong FC, Young Pirates, Jomo Cosmos, and Sekhukhune United as they host visiting teams from outside the Vaal region.

Sekhukhune United has successfully played their DDC matches at Isak Steyl Stadium for the past three seasons. They have made this venue their slaughterhouse, hosting high-profile fixtures against heavyweights like Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Representing the Vaal in the ABC Motsepe League are Ben 10 FC, Boipatong FC, and Young Pirates FC, while Jomo Cosmos and Sekhukhune United complete the line-up of outside teams using Isak Steyl Stadium for their home games.

This marks a historic milestone as it is the first time in a long time that the Vaal has boasted more than two representatives in the second-division league, formerly known as the Vodacom League.

Ben 10 FC and Boipatong FC earned automatic promotion to join Young Pirates FC, who are entering their second consecutive season in the competition.

For their home fixtures, Ben 10 FC will play at Shakespeare Stadium, Boipatong FC will use Boipatong Stadium, and Young Pirates FC will play at Sicelo Stadium as the action-packed opening weekend approaches.
