Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mahano said he already feels at home after receiving a warm welcome from the Lekoa FM management, staff, and listeners. He revealed that he left Thetha FM last year and was weighing up his options before finding his new home at Lekoa FM.
The station management intends to create a new show.
He hit the ground running during his first week by interviewing former Bafana Bafana star Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi from Mexico, following Bafana Bafana’s 2-0 defeat against the co-hosts. Mohano currently hosts a one-hour sports segment on the Medumo Ya Lekoa Afternoon Drive on Fridays from 17:00 to 18:00. His sports coverage helped the station compete nationally.
Mahano’s passion for radio and sports goes back a long way.
Apart from his work as a sports presenter, he is also involved with the Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation. During his time at Thetha FM, his sports coverage helped the station compete against mainstream radio broadcasters.
Some of the notable names featured on his previous show include the legendary former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane.
He was born to be sports presenter.
Having established himself as one of the best sports presenters in community radio, Mahano looks up to iconic figures such as the legendary Lesedi FM commentator Thabo Kofa. He stated that he was born to be a sports presenter and dreams of following in the footsteps of sports personalities like Robert Marawa.

Mahano expressed his gratitude to his new employers, thanking the Lekoa FM management for the opportunity and stating that he looks forward to turning the sports show into a force to be reckoned with. He explained that his vision is to grow with the station and take it to another level.
“My vision is to grow with the station and take it to another level. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Thetha FM for the person that I am today. They made me who I am today as one of the best sports presenters,” said Mahano.
