SHARPEVILLE.- Following an order from SAFA Sedibeng to re-elect the Emfuleni Local Football Association, local streams have spent a busy weekend compiling their candidate lists.

This follows the declaration that previous elections, which saw Mfanafuthi Masondo elected as chairperson, were null and void because members failed to follow the constitution.

The much-anticipated elections are scheduled to take place on August 26.

In preparation, Boitshepiville teams held a meeting with candidates at George Thabe Stadium on August 9 to discuss the future of the association.

Teams are now working tirelessly to choose fit leaders.

Oupa Tladinyane tops the list of candidates for ELFA Chairperson, alongside former PSL referee and analyst Victor Hlungwane as first deputy, and Montsheng Kola as second deputy.

Other familiar faces on the list include Master Zondo, Tebello Kheswa, Paul Motsepe, Joseph Matlhong, Kgopotso Kgotse, Nhlanhla Mthembu, and Bokang Ntsenyeho.

Meanwhile, Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that the current ELFA representative, Jabu Mgcina, made it clear that he won’t stand for the elections

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Boitshepiville teams representative Tebello Kheswa emphasised the need for a balance of power. He said that the previously elected executive members did not fairly represent Emfuleni football because most were from Evaton while other areas were left out.

“We are not interested in politics. It is our wish for fairness across the entire region, not just one area,” said Kheswa.
