Parents are welcome to bring their children to the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday mornings.

SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng Hockey Academy is currently a work in progress as it prepares to play club hockey next year.

This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Nkosinathi Nolusu, who is behind the initiative to develop children aspiring to be professional hockey players.

Nolusu trains these youngsters at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday mornings.

The academy focuses on developing youngsters by giving them proper training. Nolusu is one of the most experienced hockey coaches, with over 35 years of coaching and playing.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, he said the aim is to bring back the hockey culture in the Vaal. He believes it is important to start development at the early stages of a child’s life, noting that hockey is no exception.

Nolusu said that the academy’s top priority is developing children from a young age and preparing them for the future.

“Sedibeng Hockey Academy specialises in young children who aspire to become hockey professionals and represent their country at the highest level.  Parents are welcome to bring their children to the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday mornings,” concluded Nolusu.
