SEDIBENG.- The South African Masters and Legends Football Association (SAMLFA) Sedibeng has released a statement defending Danny Jordaan following his re-election as the President of the South African Football Association (SAFA).

Jordaan secured his position to lead the organisation for another four years after defeating AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu in the recent elections.

He was under scathing attack, with certain sections accusing him of buying the votes. SAMLFA Soweto previously declared opposition against him in an article published by Sedibeng Ster Sport.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, SAMLFA Sedibeng Chairperson, Richard ‘Bricks’ Mokolo, said that his organisation fully approved of Jordaan’s leadership. Mokolo explained that SAMLFA Sedibeng and SAFA Sedibeng shared the same principles and agreed to support Jordaan.

We followed a collective mandate.

As an associate member of SAFA Sedibeng, Mokolo noted that they followed a collective mandate and could not go against it.

“We also endorsed the SAMLFA Gauteng’s mandate, which we supported before the elections. As SAMLFA Sedibeng, we are happy that Mr Jordaan will be leading football for the next four years.  The truth is that he is one of the most experienced football administrators that we have in South African football to date. He has contributed a lot to South African football,’ said Mokolo.
