SAA’s “final fly-by” over OR Tambo is old news!

SAA's Spokesperson says videos about an alleged final fly-by at OR Tambo that went viral on Facebook since yesterday, were taken last year and definitely NOT during lockdown.

UPDATE: VAALWEEKBLAD RECEIVED THE INFORMATION BELOW FROM A READER AND PUBLISHED IT IN GOOD FAITH, BUT IN THE MEANTIME WE LEARNED THAT THE VIDEO WAS TAKEN SOME TIME AGO DURING A PRESIDENTIAL FLY-BY AND NOT YESTERDAY AS THE SOUTH AFRICAN AIRLINE’S FINAL GOODBYE TO O.R. TAMBO.
SAA spokesman, Tlali Tlali, says the videos of “four pilots who were granted permission to do a fly-by” that are circulating on Facebook since yesterday, date back to the president’s 2019 inauguration. “The videos were taken during the preparation and practice for the presidential inauguration fly past,” says Tlali.
