Series of house robberies reported in Three Rivers

Police spokesperson captain Fikile Funda says, “Residents are urged to tighten up their security and to close doors including security doors even when present at home.”

VEREENIGING. – The Vereeniging police are concerned about the number of house robberies reported in and around Three Rivers, especially Rissiville recently.

Police spokesperson captain Fikile Funda says, “Residents are urged to tighten up their security and to close doors including security doors even when present at home.

“Theft of motor vehicles is still rife in Three Rivers and the targeted make is VW Polo, NP2OO, 4X4 of any make.” Funda further reports the arrest of 14 people from crimes such as possession of drugs, dealing in drugs,  driving under the influence,  shoplifting, possession of suspected stolen property , assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, theft and  malicious damage to property.

“All the arrested people have appeared in Vereeniging magistrate court.”

Funda further warns patrons coming for entertainment in the Vereeniging CBD against thieves targeting cars.
