HAWKS arrest Sedibeng ANC member for incitement
The alleged suspect, known in the region, could not be named as he still has to appear in court and plead.

SEBOKENG. The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, (DPCI) commonly known as the Hawks, has put behind bars, a controversial prominent member of the ANC in Sedibeng for incitement during the recent lootings. The alleged suspect, known in the region, could not be named as he still has to appear in court and plead. Provincial police spokesperson for the DPCI, Colonel Katlego Mogale, said a 45-year-old suspect was arrested at the house in Ironside, De Deur South of Johannesburg on 6 August. The matter has been postponed for further investigation and for the possible bail application. Mogale confirmed that the alleged suspect is facing charges of incitement to commit arson and murder. He was apprehended during an operation where a search warrant was being executed. The operation was conducted by a team of the Crimes Against the State (CATS) within the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation. They were supported by the members of the SAPS National Intervention Unit, and Digital Forensic Laboratory experts of the Hawks. The National Head of the DPCI, Lieutenant General Lebeya appreciate the information that continue to flow from the public and encourages others to similarly provide the information that will help in identifying and tracing other instigators. The suspect will briefly appeared at the Vereeniging Magistrates court soon.
