Ratanda police on a hunt for sexual assault suspect
Funda states that the suspect has since left the premises and is sought by the police. "The suspect is a foreign national, about 22 years of age, dark in complexion and was last staying in Ratanda."
VEREENIGING. – The police in Ratanda have launched a sexual assault case docket involving a 17-year-old victim.
The incident took place on 19 September 2020. The case has been handed over to the Vereeniging Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).
Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “It is alleged that on Saturday 2020.09.19 a 17 year old victim was home when a water pipe burst. The victim then asked for help from the suspect who was a tenant at the victim’s home.
“The suspect assisted in fixing the burst pipe after which he approached the victim from behind and started touching her breasts.
“The victim alerted the neighbours who called the parents of the suspect. The parents tried to resolve the issue but failed.”
Funda states that the suspect has since left the premises and is sought by the police after a sexual assault case was registered.
“The suspect is about 22 years of age, dark in complexion and was last staying in Ratanda.”
