Emotional send-off for woman killed by friend

Police Spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed that the suspect was granted bail.

SHARPEVILLE. – An emotional send-off was recently held for 31-year-old Puleng Mosoeu who was allegedly stabbed and killed by her friend in Divencheng near Tshepiso on 12 September.

According to her brother, Thabiso Mosoeu she was stabbed several times.

Friends and family who were still in disbelief about Mosoeu’s death marched through the streets of Sharpeville before heading to Vanderbijlpark Cemetery where she was laid to rest.

Her friend known only as Maditaba, who was with her on the day of her death, says she was surprised to learn that Puleng had been stabbed.

Puleng Mosoeu was laid to rest recently.

The two of them had spent time together at a local tavern hours before she was murdered. “She left me at the tavern and a few moments later I heard she had been stabbed.

I rushed to the scene and unfortunately she had already passed away.” “Losing a friend like Puleng is devastating. I don’t know how I’m going to get over her death,” she said.

Mapule Pitso said she had known Puleng since 1997. “She was part of my art group. She was respectful and loved by the community.

“When we buried her child recently we had no idea that we would be burying her so soon after.”
